It was a massive defection in Ekpashi ward, Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State as Comr. Julius Obanghe Kijuo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on public works and teeming supporters Saturday, dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Kijuo, he has empowered over 50 Youths across the five (5) Wards of Boki through his office by giving them jobs especially in the Public Works and engagement in Agencies.
Kijuo who was officially received by the APC leaders in the ward as he registered in his polling unit, said the essence of empowering Youths was to encourage them to be financially independent owing to the rapid rate of unemployment.
Many of the Youths spreading beyond Ekpashi ward defected with their Youth leader saying;
“Anywhere he goes we will follow “.
According to the decampees, His Excellency the Governor through the SSA, has affected their lives positively.
Kijuo who moved with thousands of his supporters including women, youths and men to the APC, appreciated them all for seeing the need to join His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade to enable him actualise his good plans for Cross Riverians.
He also thanked the Governor for giving majority of Cross River Youths the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.
Kijuo was accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on community Development Dr. Moses Agboreyo; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electrification, Mr. Victor Agbor; Former Chapter Chairman of PDP and currently an APC chieftain, Mr. Robert Obi, Vice Chairman Boki Local Government Hon. Mary Bisong, Hon. Pius Kejuo, Majority leader Boki Legislative Counsel, Hon Eddy Bisong, Chief whipe Boki Legislature, Hon. Gilbert Asu, Councillor Ogeb Ward, SA to the Governor on Community relations Boki, Mr Clifford Bobua Obi amongst other dignitaries
