Manchester United’s attacking Midfielder, Jesse Lingard has been tipped to stay put at Old Trafford, for next season’s campaign.
Prior to the second half of last season, it was obvious that Jesse Lingard had fallen out of the pecking order for the head coach, as he struggled for regular playing time before his impressive loan move to West Ham United for the second half of the season in January where he became one of the sensations in the premier league after netting Nine goals for the Hammers to help them book a spot at the UEFA conference league for next season, following their sixth place finish.
Despite failing to make it to the England squad that finished second at the just concluded Euros, he has been impressive on and off the field, and had previously been linked with a move away from Old Trafford possibly to West Ham with the promise of a regular first team spot.
However, following his impressive strides and excellent performance that helped the club to seal off a 2-1 victory over Derby county on Sunday, United Head Coach, Solsjake, has expressed his decision to keep Lingard as a part of his squad for next season’s campaign as the player has shown that he is determined to fight for his place in the team.
The Head coach was quoted as saying:
“He came seven or eight days later than the rest but he’s a naturally fit boy. He’s a man, he played with a few boys but he’s one of the men,” Solskjaer said.
“Jesse has come back, been bright, he wants to fight for his place and there’s nothing better than seeing players want to fight for their place.”
The club has also provided hints that they are close to concluding a deal for English striker Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with a move to the club, since last summer. Official announcement of the deal is expected from the club in the coming weeks before the start of the new season.
