It was rain of awards in all categories for Cross River State recently in Abuja at the closing ceremony of Community and Social Development Program (CSDP), organized by the Federal Government in partnership with the World Bank to celebrate deserving states with giant strides in changing the social narratives of her residents.
The gorgeous awards presented to the state by Hajia, Sadiya Umar Farouk, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, saw Cross River carting away with a total of four awards, as listed below, 1st Position, Best Performing State Agency with the highest number of poor communities supported by geopolitical zones (South-South), 1st position, State with the highest government contribution, 1st Position, State with the highest number of completed micro projects (MPs), 2nd Position, State Agency with the highest micro project in the Environment Sector.
On hand to receive the awards on behalf of the state government are, Dr. Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Hon. Stella Odey-Ekpo, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs and Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong jnr, Commissioner for Finance.
Others are, Sir. Toni Ikpeme, Chairman, Cross State Development Agency, Mr. Fidel Udie, General Manager, Cross River State Development Agency, Mr. Justin Idikwu, Chairman, Cross River State Renewable Energy Commission, and Rev. Victor Edet, Special Adviser, International Development and Investment.
Note that the awards are a reflection of the State Government’s resolve under Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade to ensure State residents enjoys the best of social welfare and improved livelihood.
